This article is part of a series that connects people to information they may need, and shows the positive impact the United Way of the TriValley Area has on the region.
Can you read to a child, stack wood, plant flowers, or swing a hammer? United Way of the TriValley Area is actively seeking volunteers for its four Days of Caring that will be coordinated throughout the Greater Franklin County area this year. Each Day of Caring will have a theme: May will be 'Getting Ready for Spring', which will include gardening, clean up and beautification projects.
July's theme is 'Caring for our Seniors' where projects will be based on things that can brighten a Senior's day; making placements, potted plants, lap blankets, etc.
August/September timeframe will be 'Getting Ready for Winter' and includes projects like winterization, home repairs, stacking wood, and such to help our community get ready for the long winter.
October will be 'Literacy and Mentoring' with a focus on getting folks out and reading; younger children in the classroom visiting local nursing homes to read, etc.
Anyone interested in participating or organizing a group to help, should call Nichole Ernest at 778-5048 and keep an eye out for dates as they are set. Days of Caring are a great way for large groups to participate in giving back and making an impact; groups like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, middle school, high school and college groups and/or sports teams, businesses...the opportunities are endless. Days will be held from Coburn Gore to Livermore.
The good work United Way does in the community is made possible by many, including Corporate Partners. United Way of the TriValley Area is excited to announce a new Premier Corporate Sponsorship by Coldwell Banker Sandy River Realty. This unique partnership unites two prominent organizations in Greater Franklin County in a mutually beneficial relationship to support our community.
As part of this sponsorship, Sandy River Realty will make a donation to United Way for every home sold during the months of April, May and June. Additional funding will also be provided throughout the year in support of Sandy River Realty's commitment to give back to the residents in our region.
Anyone who wants additional information, may contact Larry Karno at Sandy River Realty (207) 778-6333. Sandy River Realty looks forward to a GREAT year, selling lots of houses and making lots of investments in our community.
